After breakfast, you will be taken north to the starting point of the cycling journey. The soft-
graded track will lead you up to Narammala, a town in the Kurunegala District surrounded by
paddy fields and coconut estates. Known for housing the world's first and only betel research
lab and institute, Narammala has a diverse community mainly consisting of Sinhalese and
Muslims. Despite the potential rise in temperatures, Narammala provides a picturesque setting
and a friendly local population, making it an ideal starting point for your cycling adventure. The
route will mostly be on flat terrain, with a mix of tarred roads and concrete/dirt byroads.After
cycling from Narammala, you will be driven 90 km to Sigiriya by vehicle, where you will spend
the night.

temples, and serene tanks. The excursion concludes with a delightful Sri Lankan lunch at a
traditional village home. A portion of the ride circles the iconic Sigiriya and runs parallel to the
renowned Pidurangala Rock.

you to Nelligala Temple, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surroundings with Adam's
Peak in the background. Visit other temples like Gadaladeniya, Lankathilaka Temple & Embekke
Shrine that boast a rich heritage dating back to the Kandyan Kingdom. Witness the traditional
drum-making process in a local community, where you can even try playing traditional drums. In
the evening, you have free time to discover Kandy City. Upon arriving in Kandy, your first stop
will be the 16th-century Temple of the Tooth, a significant temple housing Lord Buddha’s tooth.
Adorned with intricate murals and paintings depicting the journey of Buddhism, the temple hosts
the daily ritual 'pooja' involving drumming and chanting, creating a vibrant and captivating

You will be riding through a combination of ascents and descents through the hillside of Kandy. This track includes some demanding uphill slopes that will keep you on your toes until you reach your destination. Ride along the Mahaweli River which is Sri Lanka’s longest river and also past different types of crops which sustain the local population. This gives you the chance to familiarize yourself with the locals and their traditional lifestyles. In Gampola you’re halfway to Ginigathhena. The Further you go uphill, you will be riding through the lush green tea plantations around you, you will be able to visit a tea plantation & a factory to witness the process of making world-renowned “Ceylon Tea”.
